One of one — and the boldest of the bunch. Pieced from a true patchwork of vintage kantha: layers of reclaimed cotton sari, block-print and woven plaid, all hand-stitched into a single dense, rippled cloth. Nothing about this jacket repeats, front to back or panel to panel.
The front works in soft, sunlit tones — oatmeal cream, pale yellow and sage — broken up by a faded tartan placket and two blue flap chest pockets fastened with coconut buttons, each backed by little glimpses of paisley and medallion print. Turn it around and the mood shifts entirely: a pale quilted yoke gives way to a deep charcoal-brown block, then a band of indigo block-print at the hem. Both sleeves run in a vivid magenta-pink, with flashes of yellow and purple at the seams. Running stitch covers every inch, and the whole thing carries the honest fades, marks and patina of cloth that has already lived several lives.
A clean, collared cut with a sturdy full-length zip and the quiet weight quilted kantha gives. Three-season wear, and a genuine statement piece.
