One of one. Cut from a single panel of vintage kantha — layers of reclaimed cotton sari hand-stitched together with the dense running stitch that gives the cloth its rippled, lived-in depth. No two pairs will ever be the same.
This is the most painterly piece of the lot. The ground is a deep raspberry rose, dramatically sun-bleached down the front to pale silvery-pink and washed sage, as though years of light have worn the colour back to its bones. Flashes of orange, lilac and purple surface along the seams and down the back of the legs, and faint ghost-motifs from the original sari drift in and out of the dense stitching. The effect is closer to weathered canvas than fabric — soft, faded and entirely unrepeatable.
Cut as an easy, straight-leg trouser with a button front, belt loops and slant pockets up top, a comfortable elasticated back waistband, and a rear patch pocket finished with the Sequent label. The quilted kantha body gives them real substance and a soft, broken-in handle from the first wear.
