One of one. Cut from a single panel of vintage kantha — layers of reclaimed cotton sari hand-stitched together with the dense running stitch that gives the cloth its rippled, lived-in depth. No two pairs will ever be the same.
This is the quietest piece in the collection, and the most tactile. The ground is a soft ecru — cream and oatmeal — worked all over in close rows of fine red thread, so the whole surface reads as a warm, faded blush from across the room and resolves into thousands of individual stitches up close. Faint ghosts of sage and dusty pink surface from the layers beneath, along with gentle tea-toned marks and a single flash of turquoise at the hem: the honest patina of cloth that has already lived a long life.
Cut as an easy, straight-leg trouser with a button front, belt loops and slant pockets up top, a comfortable elasticated back waistband, and a rear patch pocket finished with the Sequent label. The densely quilted kantha body gives them real substance and a soft, broken-in handle from the first wear.
